Spiral Spin Order and Transport Anisotropy in Underdoped Cuprates
We discuss the spiral spin density wave model and its application to explain properties of underdoped La2−xSrxCuO4. We argue that the spiral picture is theoretically well justified in the context of the extended t−J model, and then show that it can explain a number of observed features, such as the location and symmetry of the incommensurate peaks in elastic neutron scattering, as well as the i...
متن کاملTheory of underdoped cuprates.
We develop a slave-boson theory for the t-J model at finite doping which respect a SU(2) symmetry – a symmetry previously known to be important at half filling. The mean field phase diagram is found to be consistent with the phases observed in the cuprate superconductors, which contains d-wave superconductor, spin gap, strange metal, and Fermi liquid phases. The spin gap phase is best understoo...
متن کاملThermodynamic and transport properties of underdoped cuprates from ARPES data
The relationship between photoemission spectra of high-Tc cuprates and their therPreprint submitted to Elsevier Science 6 February 2008 modynamic and transport properties are discussed. The doping dependence of the expected quasi-particle density at the Fermi level (EF) are compared with the electronic specific heat coefficient γ and that of the spectral weight at EF with the in-plane and out-o...
متن کاملSpectral Properties of Underdoped Cuprates
In the framework of the planar t-J model for cuprates we analyze the development of a pseudo gap in the density of states, which at low doping starts to emerge for temperaturesT < J and persists up to the optimum doping. The analysis is based on numerical results for spectral functions obtained with the finite-temperature Lanczos method for finite two-dimensional clusters. Numerical results are...
متن کاملOn localization effects in underdoped cuprates
We comment on transport experiments in underdoped LaSrCuO in the non-superconducting phase. The temperature dependence of the resistance strongly resembles what is expected from standard localization theory. However this theory fails, when comparing with experiments in more detail.
